About

Thanks to Peter Gilbert, who has been tireless in being the overseer of East Bay Gay Guys.  Because of his dedication and energy, we've had this wonderful means of socializing for gay people in this part of the Bay Area for many years now.

Once again, we had large crowds.  And there were many who helped handle the large number of people in the house  The volunteers who stepped up to man the bar were huge keys to how well things went this year, as about 150 people attended the event, and stayed.

For my part, I gave my first EBGG Halloween reception in 2006.  It was quite a task…fun, but quite a task.  Then Tim Ault began helping me with The Haunted Caverns and with the orgainizational aspects of this reception in 2007 and for the last four he has been host along side me.

The Haunted Catacombs has grown to be the the center point for many people for this particular party.  It has grown into an elaborate adventure, almost "theme park" in nature, with a life of its own.   Tim has been an indispensible in its creation  and construction.  It’s also been a fun challenge to make the experience slightly different each year.

As long as Tim and I have energy and time, we'll continue the tradition of this Halloween gathering at my home.  It's really great fun and, also, allows us to be a bit creative.

This event would never be possible without the help of volunteers.  Even though there were only three this year, the party went off without a hitch.

Kevin Levey, shown at left with full 49er regalia has done the heavy lifting at the bar for many years now.  This is pretty much a nonstop four hour barrage of requests from thirsty guests.

Joe Pessa has been the principal photographer for the event since 2011. Guillermo Sandoval helped in the construction of the Haunted Catacombs.  He also served as bouncer and proctor in the Haunted Catacombs this year.

So see you Sunday October 25, 2020 at "The House On Haunted Hill."
